Tagaytay LGU thanks NE city for assistance to Taal victims

SAN JOSE CITY – The city government of Tagaytay led by Mayor Agnes D. Tolentino thanked city Mayor Mario “Kokoy” Salvador for the latter’s donation of relief goods for the victims of the recent Taal Volcano eruption.

In its Resolution No. 2020-388, the SP of Tagaytay led by Vice Mayor Reymond A. Ambion took cognizance of the donation of about 1,000 food packs by the city government of San Jose through the efforts of several groups of volunteers organized by Mayor Salvador.

On January 25, 13 days after the volcanic eruption, a contingent of volunteers led by Amor Ruz Cabico, chief of the local disaster risk reduction management office here went to Tagaytay City to deliver a truckload of relief goods to resident-evacuees displaced by the volcanic eruption.

Cabico brought with them a truckload of relief goods consisting of rice, bottled water, canned goods, instant noodles, toiletries, hygiene kits, new underwear, used clothing, and other much-needed items that were donated by civic-minded citizens of this city.

Also delivered to Tagaytay City were several packs of unexpired relief goods that were kept in stock at the LDRRMO during the preceding year as standby commodities in case of emergency.

Salvador said the Tagaytay resolution was authored by Councilor Athena Bryana D. Tolentino and unanimously seconded by the other SP members before it was attested by Vice Mayor Ambion and approved by Mayor Tolentino.
