Teacher, brother killed by MC-riding men in Ecija

SAN LEONARDO, Nueva Ecija -- A 58-year-old public school teacher and his elder sibling on Monday were shot dead in a daring broad daylight attack by two unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects.

Provincial police director Col. Leon Victor Rosete identified those killed as school teacher Cornelio Hementera and his brother Leonilo, 60, both of Bgy. Magpapalayok, this municipality.

The gun attack occured around 10:30 a.m.  on Monday in Bgy. Magpapalayok.

The siblings were going home on a a tricycle driven by Leonilo when the two suspects on a black Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle overtook them and fired several shots, hitting the  brothers in the head and different parts of the body.

The assassins fled towards  Bgy. Tambo-Adorable.

Probers recovered at the crime scene two slugs for .45 pistol, the victims' mobile phones, the tricycle and the vctims’ personal belongings.  

Last June, a female elementary school teacher, identified as Julieta Hementera, 58, whose relationship to the two Hementera siblings was not immediately known, was killed by unidentified motorcycle-riding armed men also in Bgy. Magpapalayok.
