A TEENAGER who bolted a Boys’ Town facility in Cagayan de Oro City to celebrate his 18th birthday with friends found himself in jail again after being arrested by the local police for a robbery case, a Police Regional Office 10 report said.
The teenager, a resident of Barangay 34 Cogon, Cagayan de Oro City escaped from the Tahanan, a Boys’ Town facility in Lumbia area last Tuesday saying he wanted to mark his 18th birthday with his friends.
After learning of his escape, members of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Station 2 headed by Captain Ernesto Sanchez arrested the teenager on the strength of a warrant of arrest for robbery with violence against or intimidation of persons issued last February 27 by Judge Richard Mordeno of the Regional Trial Court Branch 22.
A P100,000 bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the accused who was found to be undergoing a diversion program at the Boys’ Town facility in the city when he escaped, the PRO10 headed by Brigadier General Rolando B. Anduyan reported.
The accused is set to be presented to the court for issuance of a commitment order.
