ANGELES City -- Two motorcycle-riding men who violated traffic rules yielded several sachets of shabu when accosted by policemen conducting “Oplan Sita” in Bgy. Pulung Maragul, here, the other day.
Senior Supt. Enrico Vargas, city police director, identified the suspects as Bernard Calma, 24, and William Kenneth Tayag, 37, both of Northville 14, City of San Fernando.
Investigation showed that the duo were initially flagged down by policemen for not wearing helmets in violation of Land Transportation and Traffic Code. But the lawmen noticed Tayag suspiciously throwing something on the ground.
When policemen picked up what the suspect threw, they discovered them to be five plastic sachets of shabu.
The suspects were immediately placed under arrest for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In Bgy. Cutcut, policemen arrested one Edgar Dayrit, alias “Pusa”, 53, in a buy-bust operation.
The suspect sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur-buyer for P500.
When frisked, the suspect yielded three more sachets of shabu and the peso bill used in the police operation.
The suspect is facing charges for violation of RA 9165.
