Troops slay 4 Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters men, wound 11 others in Maguindanao op

FOUR members of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) were killed while 11 others were wounded in an operation conducted by government forces the other day in Maguindanao.

This was confirmed yesterday by Major General Cirilito Sobejana, commander of 6th Infantry Division (ID) of Philippine Army.

One of the fatalities was identified as Ali Abdul Malik, brother of Abu Turaype.

Another fatality was a son of Abu Saiden whose name was not yet revealed.

Those wounded including Hairudin Abubakar, nephew of Bungos and one Maranao were treated in a hospital in Calumpang.

Sobejana said government troops were scouring the area to look for possible hideout of the enemy on Wednesday morning when they encountered the group of Malik at Barangay Pamalian, Datu Unsay, Maguindanao.

The troops conducted ground operation supported by air strike that resulted to the killing of Malik and recovery of some war materials.

At the height of the operation, the group of Bungos sent reinforcement that triggered another firefight that resulted in the killing another enemy.
