CAMP Brig. Gen. Vicente Lim, Bgy. Canlubang, Calamba, Laguna -- A barangay chairman and a man were nabbed during separate implementation of search warrants in Mabini and Laurel towns in Batangas, regional police PIO chief Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran said the other day.
A report to Calabarzon police director Chief Supt. Edward Esperat Carranza by Batangas police director Senior Supt. Edwin Aguilan Quilates identified the suspects as Chairman William Dadua Magsino. of Bgy. Pulang Lupa, Mabini, and a certain Mauricio Atienza Martinez, of Laurel town.
Mabini police head Chief Insp. Allan C. Nidua said his men were implementing a search warrant at around 7 p.m. the other day for the chairman for violation of Republic Act 10591 at his house that resulted in his arrest. Seized were an Elisco M16A1 cal. 5.56mm rifle (SN 133235), two magazines and 21 live ammunition.
In Laurel town, police chief Senior Insp. Eduardo Ventura Timbol II reported that they nabbed Martinez during separate implementation at 1 p.m. of a search warrant for violation of RAs 9165 and 10591 at his residence in Bgy. Ticub.
Police found two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, two small open plastic sachets of suspected shabu residue, a live bullet for cal. 30 Carbine, a live bullet for cal. .38 and a small plastic containing cash.
Martinez was not in his house during the implementation of the warrant, said Timbol.
