POLICE Regional Office 9 director, Brigadier General Froilan F. Quidilla, yesterday announced the arrest of four known drug personalities in Western Mindanao following separate buy-bust operations which led in the confiscation of some P100,000 worth of shabu.
Quidilla said that one of the suspects identified as Maryjoy Jangad alias ‘Majoy,’ a 25-year-old resident of Barangay Tinindugan, Sergio Osmeña, Zamboanga del Norte was arrested after she sold drugs to an undercover officer of the Dipolog city Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit in Purok Bayanihan, Estaka at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The suspect who is included in the watch list of the Philippine National Police Directorate for Intelligence yielded seven heat-sealed plastic sachets containing an estimated P64,000 worth of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ and the boodle money topped by a marked P500 bill.
The 2nd identified as Arniel Alvarez, 46, a carpenter from Calle Harmonia in Bgy. Lunzuran, Zamboanga City was arrested by local anti-narcotics agents after he sold about P3,000 worth of shabu to a poseur 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The suspect also yielded a marked P200 bill.
The 3rd, Alexander Barredo Jr. alias ‘Badong,’ a jobless resident of Toriven Drive in Bgy. Pasonanca, Zamboanga City yielded an estimated P21,000 worth of shabu and the boodle money topped by a marked P1,000 bill during a buy-bust operation along Estrada Drive in San Roque area past 9 p.m. Wednesday.
The suspect’s motorcycle was also impounded by the PRO9 Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, Quidilla said.
The 4th identified as Allan Bacalso,50, a resident of Purok Atis, Bgy. Dalangin Muslim in Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay was arrested during a sting in Purok Mangga, Bgy. Poblacion of the same municipality at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The suspect who was described as the no. 4 priority drug target in the municipality yelded around P7,000 worth of shabu, a mobile phone he used in making the drug transaction and a marked P500 bill.
