LUCENA CITY--- Apart from 98 confirmed carriers of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), four more cases were recorded today (Tuesday) in Quezon province.
In its 8 a.m. bulletin, the Quezon Public Information Office (QPIO) announced that 3 cases in this city and 1 in Catanauan town in the Southern part of Quezon were added to the list bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 102.
Based on QPIO list, the single case in Catanauan is the first one in the said locality, the capital of Bondoc Peninsula (3rd District).
No other details on the 4 cases were provided by QPIO.
But it was learned from Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) chief, Dr. Grace Santiago that the infected patient in Catanuan is 45- year- old wife of an Army soldier who was earlier infected by the virus somewhere outside Quezon.
Santiago said the soldier is not assigned in Quezon but occasionally visits his family in Catanauan.
She said the wife has no history of travel.
The IPHO chief said the soldier has been confined at V. Luna Hoapital in Quezon City while the wife who has been on home quarantine will be admitted today in a medical facility here.
So far, Quezon has 102 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
But 73 have recovered, 8 have died while the remaining 21, who are mostly in stable condition, are still confined.
