Zambo City cops jail 2 over P60K worth of shabu

TWO newly-identified drug traffickers in Zamboanga City were arrested by the local police after they yielded some P60,000 worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation on Saturday afternoon, Police Regional Office 9 director, Brigadier General Froilan F. Quidilla said yesterday.

The official identified the two suspects as Vicente Francisco Jr., 44, a resident of Barangay Pasonanca and Anwar Takaki, 21, of nearby Bgy. Baliwasan Seaside.

According to Quidilla, undercover officers of the Zamboanga City Police Station 11 arrested the two during an entrapment operation in Bgy. Baliwasan Seaside about 5:40 p.m. Saturday.

Recovered from the possession of the two suspects were 11 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing around eight grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ valued at P60,000 and the boodle money topped by two marked P100 bills.

Quidilla said the two are now being held in a local police detention facility facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
