TWO most wanted men in Zamboanga peninsula were hauled to jail by the local police in separate manhunt operations on Wednesday, Police Regional Office 9 director, Brigadier General Froilan F. Quidilla said yesterday.
One of the two identified as Kevin Alburo, a 21-year-old sales boy wanted for murder was arrested in his hiding place in Purok 3, Barangay San Vicente in Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur, 11 a.m. Wednesday, the official said.
Qudilla said that warrant officers from the Dumingag Municipal Police Station placed the suspect under arrest on the strength of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by the Molave Regional Trial Court Branch 23 with no bail recommended last January 23.
The 2nd suspect identified as 37-year old Vincent Santiago, a man wanted for rape with no bail recommended by the Zamboanga City RTC Branch 15 last February 17 was arrested in Sitio Poblacion in Bgy. Curuan, Zamboanga City past 12 noon Wednesday.
The suspect is now being held at the Zamboanga City Police Station jail.
Qudilla said that his men are also investigating the killing of one Sumaide Abdulmuin,22, in Bgy. Doña Ramona in Isabela City in Basilan at 8:30 p.m. last March 9.
An initial investigation showed that the victim was driving his motorcycle on his way home when a still unidentified gunman shot him in the head without any provocation.
The victim died while undergoing treatment in a nearby hospital. Quidilla said that investigators recovered a spent caliber 9mm casing at the scene.
A follow-up operation led in the arrest of one Mirsa Aligadduing, a resident of Bgy. Ittub-Ittub in Sumisip who is now undergoing investigation in connection with the killing.
