Aces strike

Milk went to import Mike Harris to roll back Columbian, 104-94, and move up anew to a share of third place in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Harris proved to be unstoppable all game-long, scoring 44 points and grabbing 27 rebounds--both game- highs -- in nearly 40 minutes of action in the Aces’ sixth win in eight matches in the season-ending tournament.
That’s good for a tie for third and fourth places with Blackwater with the playoff battle heating up in its remaining weeks.
Harris’ supporting cast also delivered.
Vic Manuel, JV Casio and Chris Banchero made key contributions as Alaska rebounded from a 73-83 setback to Magnolia last Oct 14.
“Thank God, we have Mike Harris,” said Alaska coach Alex Compton.
But Compton said he was not pleased with the team’s over-reliance on Harris.
“It’s an interesting feeling. We won the game but I’m really unhappy with the way we played, giving up lay-ups in the halfcourt, “said Compton.
“No disrespect to anybody or any other team. My concern is always my team.”
Import Akeem Wright finished with 19 points and 15 rebounds for the Dyip, which remained winless in nine games.
Jackson Corpuz also had a big game with 19 points.

Alaska (104)-- Harris 44, Manuel 16, Banchero 10, Casio 10, Baclao 6, Thoss 6, Enciso 4, Exciminiano 4, Racal 2, Teng 2, Pascual 0.
