Arceegee tops NCR Tatluhan bash

ARCEEGEE is fast making a name in local basketball.
Arceegee earned the right to represent National Capital Region (NCR) in the national finals of the 2018 FIBA-SBP “Pambansang Tatluhan” 16 years old and under basketball tournament later this month.
Von Mark Calipay hit the buzzer-beating three-point shot in the 21-19 victory of Arceegee during the NCR qualifying phase held at the Jose Rizal University gym in Mandaluyong last Sept. 30.
Calipay was ably supported in Arceegee’s unbeaten run by Julius Gatdula, Jethro Villanueva and Francis Ucay.
“It was really a dream come true for the team, especially the players, who worked hard for this championship,” said Arceegee team owner-manager Rinbert Galarde.
“I’m very happy for my players. Yun makita na mag-excel sila sa gusto nilang gawin at makamit yun pangarap nila ay malaking bagay na para sa akin,” added Galarde, an avid basketball fan himself.
“Yung puso, yun skills, yun pagtutulungan nila, nandudoon na. Sa national finals lahat gusto. But if we are able to work hard and prepare hard, maabot nila yun dream,” added Galarde.
A total of 40 teams in eight brackets saw action in the NCR qualifying and Arceegee went undefeated from the elims to the finals.
Arceegee defeated AO1 (Audience of 1) in the quarterfinals and EDSCI in the semis.
The FIBA-SBP National Finals will be held on Oct. 21-22.
