(Filoil Flying V Centre)
2 p.m. – CSB vs JRU (Men)
4 p.m. – AU vs MU (Men)
COLLEGE of Saint Benilde tries to salvage some measure of pride and finishes its season by winning its last two games including a duel with Jose Rizal University today in the NCAA men's basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
It will be a meaningless 2 p.m. contest, but the Blazers will still go all out for the victory to move closer to achieving first winning record since 2014.
St. Benilde crashed out of the Final Four race after bowing to Lyceum of the Philippines University, 64-77, last Thursday.
The 8-8 Blazers, who only posted two wins in the second round, will not get past the elimination round for the 16th straight year.
It was a heartbreaking campaign for St. Benilde as it started its first round campaign at joint fourth with Letran at 6-3, as inexperience and the failure to beat the teams they are supposed to defeat did the Blazers in.
The last time St. Benilde finished above the .500 mark was in 2014 with an 11-7 slate but could only place fifth.
Coach Vergel Meneses, for his part, is hoping that the Bombers will end their season on a high note and build some momentum for next year.
JRU, which is coming off an 81-78 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College, has a 3-14 card in last place.
Meanwhile, Arellano University (5-11) and Mapua (5-12) collide in another non-bearing game at 4 p.m.
