CHIANG  KAI  Shek College edged Grace Christian College, 52-51, and Xavier  School nipped St. Jude College, 61-60, in  a pair of heart-stopping games in the Tanduay Athletics-Metro Manila Tiong Lian (MMTL) Alumni 40 years old and above  basketball championship at the CKSC gym.

Daniel Dagdag nailed the game-winning basket with 13 seconds left as Chiang Kai Shek rallied from five points down in the closing minutes to escape with its fifth straight win.

Dagdag’s basket capped Chiang Kai Shek’s closing 7-1 run that erased Grace Christian’s 50-45 advantage  following  Dexter Quan's jumper.

Grace Christian  had a cgance to steal the win but Albert Chua missed a desperation shot with only one second left.

Gary Gan topscored with 14 points , while  Dagdag added 12 points and seven rebounds for Chiang Kai Shek, which  remained as the only unbeaten team in the nine-team tournament sponsored by Tanduay Athletics.

Quan led the way with a double -double of 19 points and 10 rebounds for Grace Christian, which  dropped to a three-way tie for fourth to sixth places with St. Stephen and Jubilee with 3-2 slates.

Royd Tan finished  with 13 points and nine rebounds, and Rand Chu  and  Benedicto Coyiuto added 10  points apiece for Xavier, which  held  off a late rally by St. Jude  to vault to solo third with a 4-2 record.

Louie Kaw    was the  top  man for St. Jude  with 22 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
