
Diliman bags YBC 12-under crown

DILIMAN Preparatory School is the 12 years old and under champion in the 2018 Youth Basketball Cup (YBC).
Led by John Jose and Troy de Guzman, DPS rolled back Sto. Nino of Novaliches School, 104-55, in the final to capture the title at the DPS covered court in Diliman, Quezon City.
Jose, who was voted as Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament, topscored with 19 points for the JV Olea-mentored Blue Dragons.
Finals MVP was Troy De Guzman with 14 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals.
“The whole Diliman College community, headed by our school president Sen. Nikki Coseteng and team managers Jerome Ngo and assistant team managers Wilson Sia and James Ngo, congratulate Coach JV and the boys for this triumph,” said Diliman College coach/athletic director Rensy Bajar.
Bajar, also the first assistant coach of PBA team NorthPort Batang Pier, said hard work and regular training are the keys to the success of the team.
“Through the years, we try to teach the values of hard work and regular training to our players. Talent alone may enable you to wi n some games, but hard work wins championships,” said Bajar.
