MANILA guns for its fourth straight win when it meets winless Las Piñas in the resumption of the Metro League Open basketball championships at the Hagonoy Sports Complex in Taguig.
Although already assured of a place in the division semis, Manila is expected to go all out for another victory in their 4 p.m. encounter against Las Piñas in the prestigious, 10-team tournament organized by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and supported by the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
Taguig is also favored to win when it plays host to Parañaque in the 7 p.m. third game.
The Generals, who lead the South Division with a 4-2 win-loss record, can fortify their hold of the top spot in the competition which also has “mobile app ng bayan” Barangay 143 as presentor, Spalding as the official ball and Team Rebel Sports as official outfitter.
Quezon City, 4-1, and Valenzuela, 4-1, dispute second place in the North at 5:30 p.m.
Only the top four teams from each group will advance to the division semifinals after the eliminations where teams play each other once including those in the other division.
