NINGBO University of China posted its fourth straight win by beating Farmco University of Malaysia, 97-72, to grab the solo lead in the 10th Asian University Basketball Championship (AUBC) baskeball tournament at the San Andres Sports Complex in Malate, Manila.
Five players scored in double figures for the coach Chen Chang Chun- Chinese team, which continued its dominance in this six-team tournament organized by Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP) and supported by the City of Manila, headed by Mayor Joseph Ejercito and Manila Sports Council head PBA legend Phillip Cezar.
Li Chen Luan topscored for Ningbo University with a game-high 27 points, followed by Zhi Kang Zhu with 20 pounts, Yin Gru Wui and Ye Jian Guan with 15 points apiece and Hui Lin Fan with 12.
Chin Terk Wei finished with 20 points for Farmco University, which fell to 2-2 win-loss mark.
Ho Yeow Loong added 14 points for the Knights.
