
Quinahan puts one over Belga

IT was.one challenge that former Extra Rice partners JR Quinahan and Beau Belga would gladly take.
The two heavyweight players, who once formed the vaunted Rain or Shine frontline in the PBA, figured in a unique chicken-eating contest organized by Chooks-to-Go at the Gold’s Gym in Sheridan St., Mandaluyong City last Thursday.
In the end, Quinahan easily beat Belga.
“I’m very happy because kumain na ako tapos nakatulong pa," said Quinahan, who earned P50,000.00 for himself and his chosen charity.
“Gutom talaga ako. Konti lang kinain kong tanghalian kasi yun nga, pinaghandaan ko talaga ito,” explained the 6-6 Quinahan, who now plays for NLEX.
Added Quinahan: “OK itong Chooks-to-Go chicken-eating challenge. Let’s make it a best of three,”
Belga pocketed 25,000.
Both Quinahan and Belga said they have not yet decided on their chosen charitable institution
Based on the rules, the winner will be the first one who can finish a whole roasted chicken with no time limit.
Actress-singer Karylle Yuzon, three-time SEA Games triathlon gold medalist Nikko Huelgas and slam dunk champion David Carlos served as the judges. and Karylle.
Justine Bacnis of Tiebreaker Times, Christian Jacinto of Spin.ph, and Carlo Pamintuan of ESPN 5 topped the media category.
