March 03, 2019

Games today:

(Paco Arena)

2 p.m. – The Masterpiece vs Diliman-Gerry’s

4 p.m. – Perpetual vs CEU

CENTRO Escolar University seeks a piece of the lead in the Foundation Group, while Diliman College-Gerry’s and The Masterpiece Clothing-Trinity aim for a breakthrough win today in the PBA D-League at the Paco Arena.

Coming off an impressive 93-76 romp of the Blue Dragons last Feb. 19, the Scorpions hope to sustain the momentum all the way to their 4 p.m. clash with University of Perpetual Help System Dalta.

Diliman-Gerry’s meets The Masterpiece in the other Foundation bracket clash at 2 p.m.

Everything looks bright for CEU with Senegal’s Maodo Diouf showing vast improvement in his game.

Against a familiar foe in the Blue Dragons, Diouf came through with 15 points, 17 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks in his D-League debut.

“I think he has really improved tremendously,” said CEU coach Derrick Pumaren of Diouf.

“He’s been with us for less than a year. He only came to us in July, so wala pa siyang one year sa akin. He has not tasted how to lift weights nung dumating sa amin, but he’s improved a lot,” added Pumaren.

The Altas will be no easy opponent for the Scorpions.

Coach Frankie Lim believes that he has done everything in his power to fasttrack Perpetual Help’s rebuild as seen in a close 75-85 defeat to Metropac-San Beda last Feb. 21, with transferee Ben Adamos, returning Keith Pido, and holdovers Edgar Charcos, Tonton Peralta, and Kim Aurin leading the charge.

The Blue Dragons of coach Rensy Bajar are aching to rebound from a tough 17-point loss to the Scorpions last Feb. 19.

Benin’s Kevin Gandjeto, who poured 18 points and nine rebounds in his debut, will spearhead Diliman-Gerry’s bid to enter the win column.

The Masterpiece, for its part, try to bounce back from a forgettable
69-89 loss to Wang’s Ballclub in their debut last Feb 21 in the developmental ranks.
