TRACE College overcame a slow start to beat Citi Global College-Sta Rosa, 85-73, in overtime to grab the solo lead in the 6th Laguna Colleges Universities Athletic Association  (LACUAA) men’s basketball tournament at Trace College gym in  Los Baños Laguna.

With multi-titled coach Nomar Isla calling the shot,  the Stallions came back from a seven-point deficit in the last minute to force an overtime and outscored Citi Global, 15-3, in extra period to keep their perfect record in tournament organized by Leonardo “Ding” Andres and Prof. Arnaldo M. Dilig.

Aaron Carullo came through with seven points in the closing minutes  and  joined hands with Avelino Torsar and Xander Sta Teresa in overtime to power the Stallions to   a come-from-behind victory.

Torsar topscored with 27 points,  followed by Carullo with 16 points and Sta Teresa with 15 points.

Julius Heradura contributed 13 points for the Stallions, whose campaign are being supported by Trace EVP Jonathan Siytiap and Administrative Head Lilian Agoncillo.

Harold Olivarez and Dominador Buena finished with 14 points apiece for Citi Global, which suffered their third straight loss.

Overshadowed  by Trae’s dramatic win  was University of Perpetual Help Dakota System -Calamba, which downed University of the  Philippines-Los Baños, 71-58 for a  2-0 record.

The Calamba City based Altas of  coach  Dennis Lapastora got double-digit  scores from four players to roll back UPLB. AA
