WORLD Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council silver super featherweight.champion Al Toyogon faces an acid test when he defends his title against challenger Ryusei Ishii of Japan at the D'Flash Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Center in Sucat, Parañaque on Jan. 26.
Toyogon, the 20-year-old pride of Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental, will make his first defense of the title he won over compatriot Nathan Bolcio of Benguet last June 10.

He also won all his four fights last year against Naotoshi Nakatani of Japan last February and compatriots Jason Tinampay last April, Germaine de la Rosa last July and Bolcio last September.
His only two losses came at the hands of Robin Dingcong in 2016 and John Ray Logatiman in 2017.
His opponent, Ishii, has a 7-4-1 record, all against fellow Japanese fighters.
