Against dangerous Broner.

LESS than a week before fight day, Manny Pacquiao has declared himself ready to rumble against challenger Adrien Broner in a fight which the Filipino ring great wants to win so badly for him to get another crack at Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

“The killer instinct is back. I’m a complete fighter again. I’m ready for him (Broner),” Pacquiao told Philboxing shortly after another workout at the Wild Card gym in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon.

Pacquiao returns to the ring this Saturday (Sunday, Manila time) to defend his World Boxing Association welterweight crown against Broner, an American prizefighter whom many say will be a tough customer for the Filipino.

The venue is the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, the same popular fight site where Pacquiao has won most of his greatest wins in a career considered as one of the finest in his time.

“I have recovered my killer instinct, my aggressiveness. The speed, the power,” Pacman said, sweating profusely after a four-round sparring with welterweight Arnold Gonzales.

“No, I’m not predicting anything. What I’m saying is I’m ready to fight. We just had a very good training camp. And I would like to thank my training team, Buboy (Fernandez) Justin (Fortune), Noy (Neri) and Haplas (Fernandez) for the good job they’ve done since we pitched camp in Manila,” the eight-division world champ said.

“And, of course, Freddie (Roach), who’ve contributed a lot in everything we did, especially when we moved here in LA.”

Pundits said Pacquiao is dead-set on winning this bout against Broner since a victory will most likely pave the way for another rich bout in mid-year against Mayweather, who beat him on points two years ago in what went down as the richest fight ever.

But fans considered that bout as one lacking in intensity and fire.

Manny’s friend and trainer, Buboy Fernandez, said his boxer  can take on Broner even today or tomorrow, saying “ he’s ready and he looks like the Manny Pacquiao of 2009 and 2010”.

Years 2009 and 2010  were memorable  for the Pacman since it was during this year when he defeated ring greats Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Oscar dela Hoya and Antonio Margarito.

Pacquiao, his team, supporters and followers will drive in a long convoy of some 40 cars, sports cars and a tour bus to fight site in La Vegas Monday (Tuesday in Manila).
