Celebrity Challenge to raise fund for select barangay frontliners

HERE’S good news for race fans all over the country.

Eight of the country's top celebrity drivers will participate in the much-awaited final round of the Race For Frontliners Celebrity Challenge  on June 14.

Expected to take part in the fund-raising event organized by Tuason Racing in cooperation with Phoenix Pulse Technology are Aubrey Miles, Gaby De la Merced, Phoemela Baranda, Arianne Bautista, Troy Montero, Jinno Rufino, Fabio Ide  and Ivan Carapiet.

Miles, the 40-year-old TV-movie star who was voted as FHM “Sexiest Woman" for 12 years, will race for Barangay Valencia, Quezon City.

De la Merced will race for Barangay Tunasan, Muntinlupa City.

Now 38, De la Merced rose to prominence when  she became one of the few Filipinos to dominate the Asian Formula 3 circuit from 1999 to 2009 and took third place in the Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition in 2008.

Baranda, a wel-known model, actress and TV host,  will race for Barangay San Isidro in Las Piñas City.

The 39-year-old Baranda was also one of the  contestants in the Philippine version of Fear Factor.

Bautista, on the other hand, will race for  Barangay Talon Dos in Las Piñas City.

Montero, the 42-year-old Filipino-American actor-sportsman will race for Barangay CAA in Las Piñas City.

Ide will race for Barangay Malagasang II-B in Imus City, Cavite; Rufino will race for Barangay San Antonio in Sucat, Parañaque City; and Carapiet will race for Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City.

“Here’s our star-studded surprise announcement for our race fans. We’re having the much-awaited celebrity challenge on the final round of the Race For Frontliners,” said event organizer Tuason Racing in an official announcement on its official Facebook page.

“Get ready for this showdown as your celebrity favorites race for their chosen beneficiaries.”

The event, which will be held at 8 p.m. on Sunday, will be streamed live on Tuason Racing’s official Facebook and YouTube channel.

The champion will get to donate P40,000 worth of Family Mart packs to their chosen frontliner/barangay beneficiary.
