SISI Rondina-led Creamline beach volleyball team was up for a treat yesterday after world champion Sarah Pavan gave the Filipina players an inspirational talk on how to be successful in the sport.
A star-strucked Rondina, who led the Philippines to a bronze medal in the 30th Southeast Asian Games last December that ended a 14-year podium drought, was thankful and grateful for the opportunity to meet the ace Canadian sand court spiker through Zoom.
"Mixed emotions whooooaaaa got a chance to talk to @SarahPavan mheeeen!!!! Solid!!!! Thank you for your time Idol! can’t wait to see you back on the court!!! @CreamlineBeach Salamat ng Marami iba kayo," said Rondina through her Twitter account.
Aside from Rondina, her fellow SEA Games teammates Bernadeth Pons and Dij Rodriguez, as well as rising stars Alexa Polidario and Bianca Lizares attended the morning Zoom conference with Pavan together with women's coaches Dolo Doloiras and Romnick Rico.
James Buytrago, who was a part of the Philippine men's team which achieved its first SEA Games medal last year, also took part of the online meeting with Pavan along with Pol Salvador, AJ Pareja, Pemie Bagalay, Krung Arbasto and Efraem Dimaculangan, and coach Rhovyl Verayo.
Charo Soriano, one of the Beach Volleyball Republic founders who is also the Creamline beach volleyball team program director, was happy to hear Pavan's stories about her experiences and her thoughts on the sporting industry amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
