THE first-ever Philippine volleyball player to win a medal in a professional league overseas, Jaja Santiago is ready for another stint in Japan.
For the third straight year, Santiago will play for Ageo Medics in the upcoming Japan V. Premier League season.
“I would like to announce na I renewed my contract with Ageo Medics,” said the 6-foot-5 middle blocker out of National University on social media Friday night.
Santiago led the Japanese club to a third-place finish in the 2019-20 season last January.
The 2020-21 season will open in October, as Santiago is expected to figure out prominently for Ageo Medics.
The UAAP Season 80 women's volleyball MVP vows to come back next year, hoping that volleyball tournaments, which was halted this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, will safely return.
“I promise naman na pagbalik ko dito next year," said Santiago.
“Hopefully maging normal na lahat bumalik na yung mga work ng mga nawalan ng trabaho and yung volleyball natin, yung training natin pag nagkabalik na lahat sa normal makikita ninyo ulit kami at ako sa Philippine volleyball court lumalaban, nakikipagpatayan sa laro,” she added.
