VOLLEYBALL stars who played for St. Scholastica College in high school have heeded the call to help.
Through the school's Tanggapan ng Kalinga, the famous alumnae will have their jerseys auctioned as part of #ProjectCOVAID, a fund-raising campaign for the families who were severely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Among the jerseys up for bidding are Mika Reyes' PSL Petron jersey, Dzi Gervacio's Ateneo off-UAAP season jersey, Michelle Cobb's PSL F2 Logistics jersey, Jessey de Leon's University of Santo Tomas V-League jersey and Pia Gaiser's University of the Philippines off-UAAP season jersey.
Former St. Scho basketball players will also do their part, as Camille Ramos will donate her La Salle UAAP Season 74 jersey, while Justine Ferrer's Thunder Eagles jersey is also up for auction.
All starting bids will be at P1,500.
All proceeds will go to Santisima Trinidad Parish community in raising P88,000 for the 88 most vulnerable families for a week.
Tanggapan ng Kalinga is St. Scho high school unit’s outreach program arm with a commitment of advancing “education for social justice and transformation”.
“The goal of the outreach program is to empower and motivate its adopted communities to act effectively towards self-reliance and to raise the consciousness of the high school community with regard to its role as social catalyst," said the group in a statement.
“Ultimately, the outreach program hopes that the communities it serves, both inside and outside school, will take responsibility in shaping their own lives, the community they live in, and the environment that surrounds them.”
Bidders can check the official Facebook page of St. Scho’s Tanggapan ng Kalinga for more details.
